Fencing Holiday Camps in Singapore

Give your kids a school break they will actually look forward to. Our fencing holiday camps run during the school holidays for children and teens, mixing real sport skills with active, screen-free fun. No fencing experience is needed and all equipment is provided.

What Our Fencing Holiday Camps Are

Our fencing holiday camps are structured, coach-led programmes designed to introduce kids and teens to the sport of fencing during the school holidays. Rather than another day in front of a screen, campers spend their time moving, thinking and learning a genuine Olympic combat sport in a safe, supervised environment at our Ubi Avenue club.

Camps are run by our NROC-registered coaches and are suitable for complete beginners as well as kids already training with us who want extra practice time over the break. Since specific camp dates, durations and pricing vary by school holiday period, we recommend you enquire for the current schedule rather than rely on any fixed dates.

What Campers Gain

  • An introduction to fencing across all three weapons: foil, sabre and epee, so campers discover which style suits them best (read more about the 3 weapons)
  • Improved focus, discipline and quick decision-making, skills fencing is well known for building
  • Better coordination, footwork and reflexes through active, varied drills
  • New friendships with other kids who enjoy sport and a bit of friendly competition
  • A confidence boost from learning something new in a supportive, encouraging setting

Who Our Holiday Camps Are For

Our camps welcome children and teens with any level of experience, from first-timers who have never held a blade to young fencers already competing. Since 1995, founder Jeffrey Lopez and our team have coached fencers of practically every age, and our group programmes take children from age 7 upward, though we will happily consider a younger child if their aptitude is there.

All fencing gear is provided for a first session, so there is nothing special to buy before your child tries it out. Parents simply need to bring a curious kid ready to move and try something different this holiday.

Why Choose Fencing for the School Holidays

Fencing is a safe, well-supervised sport that channels a school holiday's worth of restless energy into something constructive. It builds character, sportsmanship and self-control while still feeling like a game, which is why parents across Singapore choose it as a holiday programme rather than pure entertainment.

Our coaches focus on making every session engaging and age-appropriate, so campers leave each day tired in the best way and excited to come back. Many families find our holiday camps become the gateway into ongoing lessons, and some kids later move on to our regular youth classes or, for parents wanting to fence themselves, our Fencing for Fitness programme for adults.

Who Is Looking After Your Child

Handing your child over for a week of camp is a decision about who is looking after them, not just what they will do. Fencing Masters is family owned and family run since 1995, with two generations of the family coaching, so the people supervising camp are the same coaches who teach our regular classes rather than staff brought in for the holidays.

Looking after a child well is a shared job, not a solo one, and coaches, parents and the older fencers all play a part in it. That shows up directly in how camp is run: character building and pastoral care sit inside the coaching itself, rather than being bolted on afterwards. Read more on how fencing builds discipline.

Holiday camp FAQ

Yes, most campers arrive without knowing other children beforehand. Coaches structure activities so kids get to know each other quickly through drills and friendly bouts.

Many families find camp becomes the starting point for ongoing classes, though there is no obligation to continue. If your child enjoys it, our team can advise on moving into regular group or private lessons.
